Pakistan suffers 62 more COVID deaths

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan recorded 1,792 new Coronavirus Cases and 62 deaths in the last 24 hours, registering a national positivity ratio of 5.16%.

The highest infection rate 8.24% was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) followed by Sindh 7.90%, Balochistan 4.77%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 4.33%, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 3.57%, Punjab 3.39%, and Gilgit-Baltistan 1.22%.

In the last 24 hours, 34,772 tests were performed across the Country to diagnose the virus.

As of December 21, a total of 458,968 people have been infected by COVID-19 across Pakistan while 9,392 have succumbed to it.

With an 89.1% recovery ratio, 409,085 COVID patients have recuperated now whereas the figure of active COVID Cases in the Country is 40,491.

To date, Sindh has registered 204,840 Coronavirus Cases and 3,333 deaths, Punjab 131,933 Cases and 3,638 deaths, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 55,183 Cases and 1,546 deaths.

Similarly, ICT has so far recorded 36,257 Coronavirus Cases and 391 deaths, Balochistan 17,926 Cases and 179 deaths, AJK 8,002 Cases and 206 deaths, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,827 Cases and 99 deaths.
