Pakistan, Saudi Arabia sign agreement for 2014 Hajj arrangements

JEDDAH: An agreement was signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on Wednesday regarding Hajj arrangements in 2014, after the agreement a new Hajj policy will be formulated.

The federal minister for religious affairs Sardar Yousaf, who along with his Saudi counterpart Dr. Bandar al-Hajjar signed the agreement, said that a new Hajj policy will be formulated after the agreement.

143,000 Pakistani pilgrims to go for Hajj in 2014

Yousaf said that a total of 143‚000 pilgrims will perform Hajj and the approval of their number and other Hajj arrangements will be granted by the federal cabinet. He said that Hujjaj will stay in Saudi Arabia for 40 days.

The minister said that all out arrangements are being made to provide maximum facilities to intending pilgrims, adding that for this purpose‚ nearby buildings with all facilities will be hired.
