RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayat ur Rehman on Tuesday visited the special forces training center in Cherat to witness Pakistan-Russia Army joint Exercise.

In a press release, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Corps Commander Peshawar interacted with the military personnel of both Pakistan and Russian who are participating in the exercise.

The IPSR said that the exercise brought value on both sides and is progressing smoothly. He said that it will conclude on October 10.

The first-ever Joint Russian-Pakistani Tactical Exercise “Friendship-2016” is aimed at strengthening counterterrorism cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.

More than 200 servicemen of the two countries are involved in the exercise. The Russian Armed Forces represented by 70 servicemen of the mountain motorized rifle brigade of the South Military District.
