Pakistan records 9.96% COVID-19 positivity ratio

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Country recorded a 9.96% COVID-19 positivity ratio on April 4 as out of 43,362 tests, 4,323 returned positive, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

The latest statistics released by the NCOC on Monday morning showed that in the last 24 hours, the highest positivity ratio was observed in Punjab with 12.64% followed by Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) at 12.62%.

In the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the COVID-19 positivity ratio stood at 11.33% as out of 5,654 COVID-19 tests, 641 were found positive.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province had the positivity ratio of 11.32%, Balochistan 5.76%, Sindh 2.72%, and Gilgit-Baltistan 1.97%.

The NCOC’s data also showed that 43 more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the disease across the Country on April 4.

With fresh infections, now the total number of Coronavirus Cases across the Country has reached 692,231.

Out of those Coronavirus Cases, 615,960 have resulted in recoveries while 14,821 have ended in deaths.

As of April 5, 61,450 COVID-19 patients are under treatment in the Country.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Arif Alvi will preside over a virtual meeting today in connection with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of the third wave of Coronavirus pandemic during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

All Provincial Governors, the AJK President Masood Khan, and renowned clerics of the Country will participate in the meeting through video link.

The meeting will deliberate upon the plan of action to ensure the implementation of all SOPs in mosques and Imam Bargas to contain the deadly virus.
