Pakistan records 140 more COVID-19 deaths, positivity ratio remains at 9.58%

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan recorded 140 more COVID-19 deaths on May 6, 2021 while the positivity ratio stood at 9.58% as out of 44,846 tests, 4,298 returned positive, the latest statistics issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) showed.

The data showed that in the last 24 hours, 82 people died of Coronavirus in Punjab, 40 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7 in Sindh, 5 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and 3 each in Balochistan and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

To date, 18,677 COVID-19 patients have passed away in Pakistan including 8,891 in Punjab, 4,698 in Sindh, 3,537 in KPK, 702 in ICT, 499 in AJK, 243 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Whereas the Country has so far registered a total of 850,131 Coronavirus Cases.

Out of them, 314,517 Cases have been recorded in Punjab, 289,646 in Sindh, 122,520 in KPK, 77,414 in ICT, 23,016 in Balochistan, 17,660 in AJK, and 5,358 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NCOC’s data further showed that 747,755 people have now recovered from the infection in the Country as of May 7 while 83,699 are still under treatment.

It also showed that 5,678 COVID-19 patients are currently admitted in 638 hospitals equipped with the required facilities across the Country.
