ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that we want to live in peace with our neighbours including Afghanistan and India, adding that Pakistan cannot progress without peace.
In his address to the participants of National Defense course in NDU Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minister expressed his resolve to change Pakistan into a moderate and developed country.
The prime minister said that Afghanistan is an important neighbour. He said that in his meetings with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, he has assured that Pakistan will not interfere in internal matters of his country.
Sharif further said that Pakistan fully supports afghan-led and afghan-owned peace process. The premier said that Pakistan also wishes to resolve all outstanding disputes with India.
In addition, the prime minister said that the country is facing formidable security and economic challenges‚ however the government has taken effective measures including standby International Monetory Fund (IMF) agreement‚ clearing of circular debt‚ five-year development plan and subsequent vision 2025.
