RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff of Armed forces of Kazakhstan Colonel General Saken Zhasuzakov called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

In a press release, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that matters of mutual professional interest and defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

The visiting dignitary lauded the achievements of Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism.

Earlier, Colonel General Saken Zhasuzakov accompanied by a delegation also called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the prime minister said that Pakistan values close and cordial relations with Kazakhstan. He said that both the countries have immense mutual good will and understanding to bring both the countries even closer.

In his remarks, Colonel General Zhasuzakov Saken Adikhanovich thanked the prime minister and expressed the confidence that mutual relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan will be further strengthened with the continued efforts from both sides.
