Pakistan has gifted personal protective equipment (PPE) to the US Armed Forces as a token of friendship and solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The PPE including surgical masks and protective suits was sent to the United States through a C-130 plane, and handed over to the Senior US officials at the Andrews Air Base in Washington DC by Officials of Pakistan armed forces and diplomatic corps.
Meanwhile, the US Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) said in a tweet that “The United States thanks Pakistan for its goodwill donation of medical supplies to support the fight against Coronavirus. Our countries’ health partnership and coordinated response will help defeat this virus, and rebuild our prosperity.”
While appreciating Pakistan’s goodwill donation of surgical masks and protective suits to the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted saying that “This delivery is a symbol of US-Pakistan solidarity in the fight against COVID-19. #WeAreInThisTogether #Partners4Prosperity.”
In response to Mike Pompeo’s appreciation, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan said that Pakistan and the United States have always worked together to promote common interests and counter common challenges.
“It is no surprise that #WeAreInThisTogether in the fight against COVID-19 as well!,” the ambassador tweeted.
