Pakistan fully prepared for conventional, short war: Defence minister

“Pakistan’s armed forces are ready to thwart any aggression,” the Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told media persons in Islamabad in reference to the Indian Army Chief Dalbir Singh’s recent remarks at which he ordered his army to be ready for short wars.

The minister said that the Pakistani armed forces and the nation are capable to defend every inch of the country, and India will be given a befitting reply if it did dare to attack our soil.

Meanwhile talking to media persons in Islamabad, the Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said that Pakistan is a sovereign state and wants negotiations with India on the basis of equality in light of the United Nations charter.

“Pakistan has no nefarious designs against any country,” he said.

Rasheed said that Pakistan wants good relations with neighbouring countries for eliminating poverty and ignorance in the region.
