ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan expressing concern on the activities of Indian religious extremist organization Shiv Sena on Thursday urged the international community to take notice of the terrorist activities of this organization.

“Pakistan has taken note of the activities of Shiv Sena against the Muslims in India and has expressed concern on the rising Hindu extremism,” said Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah while addressing weekly press conference here at Foreign Office.

He said Pakistan had also conveyed its feelings to Indian government regarding the increase of Hindu extremism which was specially targeting several Pakistani artists, players and officials in India.

Replying to a question, the spokesperson said Pakistan had also strongly condemned crackdown of Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.

Answering a question about nuclear safety, he said that Pakistan had one of the most secure nuclear system which had been appreciated by the international community.

He said Pakistan had a centre of excellence for nuclear security and cooperating the world in the safety and security of the nuclear security.

The spokesperson while responding to another question, Pakistan had conducted a spirited, sustained and concerted campaign for the candidature to the Human Rights Council.

He said Permanent Mission in New York was the focal point for the campaign adding the effort was complemented by our Missions across the world with their countries of accreditation.

He said resident foreign missions in Islamabad were also periodically approached.

The spokesperson said Pakistan maintained a robust and active profile at the international fora and it was reflected through Pakistan’s membership of 20 UN bodies, secured through election or endorsement.

This indeed, is a manifestation of Pakistan’s effective multilateral diplomacy and successful foreign policy.
