ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks that struck the French Capital Paris, resulting in the loss of about 160 precious lives and injuries to over 200 other people.

Earlier on Friday night, a series of coordinated terror attacks which are believed to be the deadliest have ever hit Paris since World War II, occurred in various places of the Capital including Bataclan concert hall, a sports stadium and restaurants.

“The people and Government of Pakistan wish to convey their heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the people and Government of France,” the Foreign Office Qazi Khalilullah said in a statement issued in Islamabad on Saturday.

“We stand with them in their hour of grief. We pray for speedy recovery of the injured,” he said.

The spokesman also reiterates Pakistan’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also strongly condemned deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

In his condolence message, President Mamnoon expressing solidarity with the French people said that terrorists are enemies of humanity. He said that terrorism is an international phenomenon and a joint strategy should be thrashed out for its complete eradication.

The prime minister said that Pakistan stands firm behind the people and Government of France in this hour.

Meanwhile, France has declared a national state of emergency and closed its borders following the killing of over 150 people in a series of terror attacks inside Paris.

Nearly 120 people were reportedly killed at the Bataclan concert hall in central Paris where gunmen took many hostages. While others were killed in a reported suicide blast near the Stade de France and gun attacks on city centre restaurants.

Following the attack, schools, universities and municipal buildings in Paris were ordered to remain closed on Saturday.

The World leaders including the US President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also strongly condemned the Paris attacks.

While speaking to reporters in Washington, President Obama called the attacks on Paris “outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians.

The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also condemned the despicable terrorist attacks in Paris.
