On Monday, eight border guards were killed in the Iranian southeastern town of Negur when clashes broke out with terrorists who had entered Iran via the Pakistani border, according to Iran’s Sistan-Balochistan province deputy governor Ali Asghar Mirshekari.

“The concerned security agencies of Pakistan are actively investigating this incident, which took place on Iran’s territory, and have asked Iranian authorities to share with us any evidence that they have,” the Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said in a statement on Wednesday.

“In case the culprits have crossed over to Pakistan after committing the crime on Iran’s soil, they will be apprehended and brought to justice,” Aslam said.

The foreign office spokesperson said that Pakistan strongly condemns terrorist act in Negur, and the Pakistani government has conveyed sincere condolences to members of the bereaved families and the Iranian government.

“Armed terrorists entered Iran from Pakistan and clashed with border guards, killing eight soldiers before fleeing back to Pakistan,” the Sistan-Balochistan deputy governor told the Iran’s official IRNA news agency.
