ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that atrocities and destruction carried out by the terrorist organizations in Syria and elsewhere are strongly condemnable.
“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the president said while talking to Air Marshal (retd) Athar Hussain Bukhari ambassador-designate to Syria in Islamabad on Monday.
Since the armed conflict began in Syria in March 2011 between the President Bashar al-Assad regime and the anti-government forces, more than 200,000 Syrians have died while millions of other people have been forced to leave their homes.
Later, the militant group ‘Islamic State’ mostly based in Iraq and Syria also began its insurgent activities which further deepened the crises in the Middle Eastern country.
In his meeting with Hussain Bukhari, President Mamnoon said that Pakistan has consistently called for protection of the sovereignty of Syria, cessation of hostilities and violence by all sides.
The president underscored that Pakistan always seeks friendly and enhanced relations in all fields with Syria.
Pakistan deeply values its ites with Italy
Separately talking to ambassador-designate to Italy Nadeem Riyaz, President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan deeply values its relations with Italy both bilaterally and in the European Union context.
Mamnoon Hussain noted that Italy is Pakistan’s third largest trading partner in Europe.
The president stressed that Italian entrepreneurs should be encouraged to explore opportunities available in the alternative and renewable energy sector of Pakistan.
