ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: India on Thursday said that it strongly condemns Pakistan’s encouragement and support to terrorists and alleged that recent protests in Jammu & Kashmir were led by UN-designated terrorists.
“We have seen reports about rallies, events and statements related to Jammu & Kashmir in Pakistan and POK over the last two days. We have also noted that the events were led by UN-designated terrorists,” the Spokesperson of Indian External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup said in a statement issued on Thursday.
“India strongly condemns the encouragement and support which such terrorists and their activities receive from Pakistan’s state,” he said.
The Spokesperson claimed that those UN-designated terrorists, who were involved in recent events in Jammu & Kashmir, also had in the past protested the elimination of dreaded terrorists including Osama Bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour in Pakistan.
“We once again ask Pakistan to stop inciting and supporting violence and terrorism in any part of our country and refrain from its deplorable meddling in our internal affairs in any manner,” Vikas Swarup said.
On July 19, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) observed “Accession to Pakistan Day” with a renewed pledge to continue their freedom struggle till liberation of the state from Indian subjugation.
Vikas Swarup said that “the observance of “Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day” exposes Pakistan’s longing for the territory of Jammu & Kashmir.”
“India demands that Pakistan must fulfil the obligation to vacate its illegal occupation of POK,” he said.
Meanwhile, general elections were held today in Pakistan-administered Kashmir to elect new member of Legislative Assembly.
The Indian external affairs ministry spokesperson said that Pakistan must stop misleading the international community and Kashmiris through meaningless exercise such as the so-called elections.
Moreover, Vikas Swarup also asked the government of Pakistan to ensure full safety and security of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, all its officials and their families.
“In view of the threats of marches and protests at the High Commission of India in Islamabad, we ask the Government of Pakistan to ensure full safety and security of the High Commission, all its officials and their families in Pakistan,” he said.
