ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The newly appointed Ambassador of Argentina to Pakistan H.E. Ivan Ivanissevich said on Friday that he was fully committed to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

In a meeting with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Friday that the envoy expressed confidence in the present level of cooperation between Pakistan and Argentina.

The envoy also briefed the special assistant on the recent political developments in Argentina and the region.

The special assistant while welcoming the Argentinean ambassador to Pakistan, expressed the confidence that he would endeavour to enhance the existing level of bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.

Fatemi briefed the ambassador on the policies of the present government. He also underlined that 2016 being the 65th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Argentina, it be used as an opportunity to give a fresh impetus to the bilateral relations.

Tariq Fatemi also called for agreeing on institutional mechanisms in all areas of bilateral interests, including economy and trade, science and technology, energy, education and culture.
