The two T20 internationals between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 30 and August 1 respectively.

The squad was approved by the Chairman PCB Shaharyar Muhammad Khan after the recommendation of the four-member selection committee headed by Haroon Rashid.

In a statement, the Chief Selector Haroon Rashid said that the selection committee has announced the squad after monitoring the performance of Pakistani players appearing in various T20 leagues.

Haroon Rashid said that the left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been included in the squad though he is yet to start bowling from July 24 after recovering from hand injury sustained during the Test series against Sri Lanka. He said that if Wahab Raiz could not recover from his injury, then Ziaul Haq would replace him in the squad.

The bilateral T20 series follows three Test matches and five one day internationals (ODIs) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan won the three-match Test series 2-1 while they are also leading the five-match ODI series 2-1. Meanwhile, the fourth ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is being played at Colombo on Wednesday.
