Islamabad, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi on Thursday, said a statement issued by the Foreign Office of Pakistan.
Statement of Foreign Office says:
The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from the people of Pakistan. Both the leaders expressed satisfaction at the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and agreed to further deepen cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
 
The Prime Minister of Pakistan underscored that Pakistan attached priority to its relations with the Russian Federation. The two sides agreed to forge a long term and multidimensional partnership between the two countries.
 
The two Prime Ministers expressed satisfaction at the progress made at the 5th Meeting of Pakistan-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) held in Moscow from 28-30 November 2017. They expressed confidence that the discussions held between the delegations of the two sides at the IGC would lead to further deepening of cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, education, industry, science and technology and transport. Prime Minister of Pakistan underscored the immense potential for further cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in the field of energy.
 
Both the leaders also exchanged views on the regional situation. Prime Minster of Pakistan informed his Russian counterpart about the prevailing situation in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s efforts to resolve all outstanding issues with India peacefully and through dialogue.

The two Prime Ministers agreed on the need to continue efforts to promote peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan. 
Both the leaders underlined the importance of cooperating closely for promoting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides expressed satisfaction at the deepening of cooperation in the field of defense. 
The Prime Minister of Pakistan extended a cordial invitation to the Prime Minister of Russia to pay an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience. The invitation was accepted.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
