PakistanOver 80,000 polling stations to be set up for general elections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that over 80 thousand polling stations will be set up across the country for upcoming general elections while training of electoral staff is currently in progress.

According to ECP, 700,000 polling officials will discharge their duties during the elections for 272 seats of National Assembly and 577 seats of the provincial assemblies.

The commission has also made appointments of 425 returning officers and 709 assistant returning officers for 126 districts across the country.

It said that the polling stations will be set up at the government buildings in all constituencies while the security personnel will also be deployed at sensitive polling stations to avoid any untoward incident.
