Government of PakistanOur politics is of development, not of sit-ins: PM Nawaz

KOTLI SATTIYAN, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday said his politics was the “politics of development” aiming to end poverty and bring prosperity in the country.

“We do not believe in the politics of sit-in that is detrimental for the country and revolves around blatant lies,” the Prime Minister said in his address to the public gathering of tehsil Kotli Sattiyan.

The prime minister said his government had always served the country selflessly and would continue to do so.

Sharif said he did not intend to focus his speech on criticizing anyone, but to focus on the development of Pakistan.

He said he had a vision of a development and prosperous country equipped with facilities of education and health.

He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be a game changer for the development of the country, adding that Pakistan would soon get its lost stature in the comity of nations.

The Prime Minister said the objective of his visit was to provide financial assistance to the people affected by floods and landslides.

After giving away cheques among the affected persons, the Prime Minister directed the Commissioner of area to ensure that all affected persons get compensatory cheques and report him within 24 hours.

Nawaz Sharif said during three years of his government, the shortage of electricity had been reduced to a great extent and vowed to end it by 2018.

He mentioned that several power houses were being set up under the CPEC project to overcome the electricity shortage.

The Prime Minister assured the people of Kotli Sattiyan of provision of electricity and natural gas.
