ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani has said that the federal government has violated all parliamentary traditions and norms and hence has made it hostage.
Rabbani made these remarks while addressing from an informal parliament session on Wednesday that was arranged outside the Parliament House by the opposition parties to register their protest against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s behavior in the Senate following a controversy over the number of civilian deaths due to the missile strikes in the tribal areas.
The PPP leader said that parliament has been made hostage while its traditions have also been manipulated.
The Senator said that the state is trying to suppress them by using powers. He further said that they will continue their struggle to uphold the Parliamentary traditions.
Raza Rabbani contended that giving a wrong answer in the Parliament is equivalent to exploit the Parliament’s discretion. The opposition wanted Chaudhry Nisar to retract his statement but he made it an ego issue, although Foreign Office and Defence Ministry also termed it fallacious.
