NEW YORK: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson has welcomed Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.

In an interview‚ the Ambassador Richard Olson said he supported dialogue with militants to bring lasting peace to the region.

The US envoy said all major conflicts in the world are ultimately settled on the negotiating table.

Olson said Pakistan has its own choice to have peace talks with local Taliban.

To a question‚ Olson said the United States has full confidence on Pakistan’s nuclear command and control system.
