Warsaw: US President Obama met Ukrainian President elect Poroshenko in Warsaw and both decided to enhance military and economic relations between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Obama said the two discussed Poroshenko’s plan to restore peace, increase GDP and reduce the country’s economic dependence on Russia. Ukrainian media claims that proposal of getting Crimea back by forces with the help of US military cooperation also came under talks.
“In my discussions with him today it’s clear he understands the hopes and aspirations of the Ukrainian people,” Obama said.
