ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan will raise its concerns over the Indian premier spy agency Research and Analysis Wing’s (RAW) activities inside its territory at the upcoming national security advisor-level talks in New Delhi, according to officials.

The National Security Advisers of Pakistan and India Sartaj Aziz and Ajit Doval will meet in the Indian Capital on August 23 for security talks.

The officials said that Sartaj Aziz will expectedly ask his Indian Counterpart to revive the Pakistan-India foreign secretary-level talks which were cancelled by New Delhi in August 2014 after the Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi held consultations with Kashmiri separatists.

The Pakistani security advisor will also raise the issue of bail granted to Swami Aseemanand, the main accused in 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings case.

“Issues like start of Foreign-Secretary-level talks and our concerns over RAW’s activities will be on the agenda,” according to the officials privy to a meeting held in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair to discuss the agenda of the national security advisor-level talks.

The meeting was attended by the Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Aziz, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and other officials.

“The issue of bail to the main accused in the Samjhauta train bombing will also be taken up by Pakistan,” the officials said.

The national security advisor-level talks will be held as per agreement reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi in the Russian City of Ufa on July 10.

It was agreed that a meeting between the National Security Advisers of both the neighboring countries in New Delhi to discuss all issues connected to terrorism.
