ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed has categorically said that no compromise will be made on Rangers-led operation in Karachi.
Talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Thursday, the minister made it clear that the Karachi operation is not against any political party or personality but against the criminal elements
“The people of Karachi have also expressed satisfaction over the operation,” Rasheed said.
The information minister said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers’ resignations from the Parliament is a political issue. He said that the reservations of the party will be addressed.
On Wednesday, the MQM lawmakers tendered their resignations from the National Assembly, Senate and the Sindh Assembly as to express their reservations over the operation in Karachi.
In a press conference outside the National Assembly, the MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that it has been proved that the implementation of law is different for the MQM than that for other parties.
“Even if the statements and speeches of Altaf Hussain are allegedly against the Constitution, it does not give any state institution the leverage to carry out illegal and unlawful acts against MQM and its leaderships,” he asserted.
