ISLAMABAD: The Information Minister said efforts are underway to develop consensus among federal and provincial governments and state institutions to provide fool-proof security to the political leaders.
In an interview‚ he said it is vital for the government to provide equal security to all political leaders without any discrimination to provide level playing field for every political party in the upcoming general election.
He said level of threats varies from person to person. He said since remained Prime Minister of the country for two times and threat against him is more serious.
Commenting on the new directives of the ECP‚ he said that candidates should avoid using religion for electioneering. He said the government will support the ECP to take stern action against violators of the directives.
