ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday expressed his commitment to make Islamabad a crime free city for which he asked police personnel to play a significant role.

While addressing the passing out parade of recruits held in the Police Line Headquarters in Islamabad on Monday, the minister said that Islamabad Police Chief Tariq Masood Yasin should make the Federal Capital a crime free city. He said that crime rate had declined in the capital city of Islamabad.

The minister also appreciated Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) whose hard work, he said, helped in improving law and order situation and reducing terror-related incidents across the country during the last three years.

“The entire credit for this achievement goes to security and intelligence agencies of the country”, he mentioned.

“I am happy that 480 recruits have appointed purely on merit. We have to ensure transparency and merit in recruitment process and the policy will be adopted in the appointment of personnel in Rapid Response Force (RRF).”

The interior minister also inspected the passing out parade and was presented an honorary shield by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin.

The minister also distributed the keys of vehicles among Frontier Constabulary (FC), Federal Investigatoin Agency (FIA) and Islamabad Police which were provided by the Chinese government.

The Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Zulfiqar Haider, IGP Islamabad, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad Sajid Kiani and other senior officials of Islamabad Police and LEAs were also present on the occasion.
