RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would not be allowed to hold its public gathering in F-9 Park in Islamabad.

Earlier, Imran Khan-led PTI announced to hold a public gathering in F-9 Park on April 24 to mark the party’s Foundation Day.

In a press conference at Kallar Syedan in Rawalpindi on Saturday, the interior minister however said that the PTI should alter its Jalas venue and arrange it in Kallar Syedan. But the minister categorically said that the federal government had not plan to seal the Capital.

Talking about the Panama Leaks, the minister said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) might be asked to probe the matter as per opposition demand. He also asked the opposition to stop making hue and cry over Panama Leaks, so that the investigation could be initiated.

Reiterating federal information minister’s stance on Imran Khan’s address to the nation via Pakistan Television (PTV), Chaudhry Nisar said that the only the president and the prime minister enjoy the distinguished rights of addressing the nation through PTV.

Holding Jalsa is out democratic right: Mazari

Meanwhile, the PTI senior leader Shireen Mazari said that PTI won’t accept such restrictions, saying holding a public gathering is her party’s democratic right.

Mazari accused Chaudhry Nisar of politically victimizing the PTI while the PTI Spokesman Naeemul Haq said that future course of action would be chalked out after consultation with Imran Khan.
