Nisar denies decision taken on full scale military operation in NWA

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Saturday that no decision has been taken regarding a full scale military operation in North Waziristan tribal region.

In a statement in Islamabad on Saturday, the interior minister said that the current state of airstrikes and limited military action in the tribal region is in continuation of the already taken decision that any act of violence or terrorism against civilian or military targets will meet a calibrated and measured response.

The minister said that neither there was any decision to call off dialogue process, nor any such demand made from either side.

Nisar also clarified that no decision has been taken to hand over the security of Islamabad and other major cities to the army, nor is the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) involved in this whole matter in any manner.
