ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Four newly appointed members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will take oath of the office on Wednesday, according to spokesman of the Commission.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan will administer oath to the newly appointed ECP members.
The oath taking ceremony will be held at the ECP’s Secretariat in Islamabad, the spokesman said.
Earlier in the day, President Mamnoon Hussain accorded approval to the appointment of four new members of the ECP who included Justice (retd) Shakeel Ahmed Baloch from Balochistan, former federal secretary Ghaffar Soomro from Sindh, Justice (retd) Irshad Qaiser from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Justice (retd) Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi from Punjab.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had sent the advice to the president after confirmation by the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of CEC and members of the Election Commission.
