ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the world needs to take stock of the latest brutalities against unarmed innocent Kashmiri people who are heavily sacrificing for attainment of their inalienable right to freedom.

In a meeting with the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan who made a farewell call on him at the PM House in Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minister reiterated his government’s firm resolve to extend its fullest moral, diplomatic and political support to the indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiri people.President AJK Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

The prime minister appreciated the outgoing President of AJK for amicably conducting state’s affairs during his term in office.

Nawaz Sharif said that the continuity of electoral process has amply strengthened the democratic system in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Polling for election of AJK President underway

Meanwhile, polling for election of Azad Jammu and Kashmir president is in progress in Muzaffarabad which will continue till 3:00 pm.

The members of Legislative Assembly and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council are exercising their right of vote to elect the new President.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Muhammad Masood Khan and Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Chaudhry Latif Akbar are contesting the election for the office of AJK President.
