Government of PakistanNawaz Sharif urges people to support govt, reject container politics

SIALKOT, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday asked the people to support the government in materializing the mega projects aimed at unprecedented progress and prosperity in Pakistan and reject the ‘container politics’ which only created anarchy and lawlessness in the country.

In his address to a huge public gathering after performing ground breaking of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, he said that in the next two years, a number of power and infrastructure projects would be completed, heralding alleviation of poverty and removal of people’s deprivations.

The prime minister asked people to discern between politics of progress and prosperity, and the antics being staged on the containers.

“It is called progress. We have also mounted on a container but it has no semblance with their politics. Their politics smacks of retrogression and anarchy. Ours is a container of prosperity and progress whereas their containers represent stalemate,” he added.

The prime minister said his political foes were dreaded with such dawn of fast paced prosperity and had fears if Nawaz Sharif remained in power during the next two years, their petty politics would end forever.

Nawaz Sharif said that those elements were given the mandate to stage protests whereas the government enjoyed the mandate to construct motorways.

They wanted to let the country’s youth down but the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government would not allow such elements to halt the progress, the prime minister said and expressed the resolve to end unemployment.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
