The 46th World Economic Forum annual meeting is scheduled to take place from January 20 to January 23 at the Davos Congress Centre, Switzerland under the theme “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

The World Economic Forum unites international political leaders, business leaders and journalists from across the globe to discuss and shape global, regional and industrial agendas with regards to economics, health and the environment.

Besides Sharif, about 2,500 dignitaries from the Forum’s 1,000 member companies, heads of state and government, as well as leaders of international, civil and religious organizations and members of the academia, the media and the arts are expected to attend the meeting.

It is expected that Sharif will also meet his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi whose participation in the Forum is also likely.

Last time, the two leaders met face to face was on December 25 last year when Modi made a brief surprise stopover in Lahore on his way back to New Delhi from Kabul.

The two prime ministers met at Sharif’s residence and expressed their desire to carry forward the Pak-India dialogue process for larger good of peoples of the two countries.

They also agreed that the foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India would meet in Islamabad in January to finalize the schedule and modalities for the resumption of Comprehensive Dialogue as per agreement reached on December 9.
