ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Karachi today (Tuesday) on his two-day visit during which he will review measures to improve law and order situation in the economic hub of Pakistan.

Officials said the premier will spend a busy day today, holding meetings with representatives of political parties, including MQM, JI, PTI, ST, PML-F, ANP, and trader leaders.

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Federal Information minister Pervez Rasheed will be accompanying the PM among other ministers, PMAs and party leaders.

On Wednesday, the PM will preside over a high-level meeting which will be attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan and other concerned high officials of security agencies, police and Rangers to chalk out a strategy to curb targeted killings and other criminal activities in the city.

Sources say the federal government intends to initiate a decisive crackdown against criminals and the high-level meeting is likely to finalize the proposals in this regard.
