Nawaz, Fazl discuss political situation in country

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Friday and held a discussion on overall political situation in the country.

The JUI-F Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haidri was also present in the meeting.

The meeting took place two days before a planned massive rally by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the federal capital as a part of its efforts to pressurize the federal government to initiate investigation into alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

On Thursday, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan while addressing a seminar in Lahore asked his party workers to preserve their energies for the November 30 ‘mega show’ in Islamabad, terming it final round for bringing a change in Pakistan.

“The November 30 will be remembered as a day for change in the nation’s destiny,” Imran Khan said.

Imran Khan has also announced to hold an important press conference in Islamabad at 4:00pm today to give evidence about rigging in general elections held last year.

The PTI has already been staging a sit-in in Islamabad since mid-August while holding rallies across the country in protest against the election rigging.

The federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while talking to media in Islamabad on Thursday after attending the passing out parade of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) officers, warned that nobody will be allowed to ransack state institutions on November 30.

However, he added, that the PTI will have the permission to hold a peaceful, political and democratic meeting.
