Government of PakistanNation should join anti-terror efforts for peace, prosperity: President Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Greeting the nation on Eid-ul-Azha, President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the people to join the efforts of armed forces and law enforcement agencies for elimination of terrorism and revival of peace to pave way for peace and prosperity.

In his message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha being celebrated on Tuesday across the country, the president said amid the celebrations of this festival, “we should also remember our brothers and sisters who had been the victim of terrorism, and share their grief.”

“We should also keep in mind our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who were facing the oppression and atrocities during their efforts for right to self-determination. I feel the time is not far when their sacrifices will come to fruition and they will be able to celebrate the festivals in a free atmosphere,” he added.

He prayed Allah Almighty to enable “us to celebrate this Eid in its true spirit and accept the sacrifices.”

The President viewed that Eid-ul-Azha was an important festival that was celebrated in memory of an unmatched sacrifice. The sacrifice by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) and obedience by Hazrat Ismael (A.S.) showed that real objective of a Muslim’s life was to seek the pleasure of Allah.

“This Eid also bestows us with a blessing to perform Hajj, which is an important pillar of Islam,” he added.

He said both Hajj and sacrifice on this Eid proved the fact that Islamic teachings were a source of unity of the Muslim Ummah regardless of any discrimination in name of colour, creed and ethnicity.

President Mamnoon urged the people not to avoid any sacrifice for promotion of real values and traditions in true spirit of Islamic teachings.

Also felicitating the whole Muslim Ummah on Eid, the President prayed that this Eid could come up with glad tidings of peace, stability, progress and prosperity for whole world, particularly the Muslim Ummah.
