GILGIT, Pakistan: Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman on Wednesday said the nation was determined to thwart conspiracies against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which would prove to be a game changer for the entire region.

Speaking in the inaugural session of the two-day seminar on “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor – Harbinger of Prosperity” in Gilgit, he said that the construction of CPEC would benefit all sectors of life in Gilgit-Baltistan including tourism.

The Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister said that all political parties of the province were supporting the project as the masses of the GB were aware of the benefits of the project.

He appreciated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for putting the country on track of economic development.

He said that Indian Prime Minister Modi was worried over the construction of CPEC and people of GP have rejected his statement.

He said that in 1947 the people of GB fought against ancestors of Indian PM Modi.

Hafeezur Rehman said with the cooperation of Federal Government and Pakistan security agencies, law and order situation in GB has improved.
