NA adopts resolution to extend PPO for 120 days amid opposition walkout

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Wednesday adopted a resolution extending the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO) 2014 for another 120 days while the opposition staged a walk out from the house over the extension.

The resolution was moved by Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid, saying that it is a very important bill for the defense and security of the country.

The minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given directions to get it passed through consensus.

The opposition staged a walk out from the house over the extension of the PPO.
