ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Muslims in many country across the world on Thursday are celebrating Eidul Azha, the annual Islamic festival of Eidul Azha or the Festival of Sacrifice which marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

The countries where Eidul Azha is being celebrated include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States among others.

In Pakistan, Eidul Azha will be celebrated on Friday for which preparations are in full swing throughout the country. The people are thronging to cattle markets to purchase animals.

The federal government has already announced three holidays from September 24 to September 26 on account of Eidul Azha. In addition, it also announced not to carry out load shedding across the country during the Islamic festival.

Hujjaj are busy in sacrificing animals, stoning the devil

Meanwhile, the Hujjaj have gathered in Mina today after performing waqoof in Maidan-e-Arafat and spending night in open sky at Muzdalifa.

The Hujjaj are now busy in sacrificing of animals and stoning satan at Jamarat that is called Rammi.

After stoning big Satan in Mina today and sacrificing of animals, the Hujjaj will shave their heads and put off Ahrams.

Later on, they will go to Makkah to perform Tawaf-e-Ziarah that will complete Hajj rituals. The Hujjaj can perform Tawaf-e-Ziarah any time in three days.

However, they will stay in the tent city in Mina and leave for Makkah on 12th of Zil Hajj in the afternoon.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
