Musharraf summoned on March 1 in Ghazi murder case

ISLAMABAD: A court in Islamabad on Saturday summoned former President Pervez Musharraf in a case related to the murder of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi in a 2007 military raid on March 1.

The additional session judge of Islamabad court resumed the case’s hearing, while the lawyer representing Musharraf filed an appeal seeking exemption for the former president from appearing before the court for today’s hearing.

The judge admitted the request and provided exemption to Musharraf from today’s hearing while it ordered him to appear on March 1. The court also instructed the police to submit a new challan of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case before the next hearing.

Moreover, during proceedings Akhtar Shah Advocate submitted his power of attorney to represent the former president in the case.
