KARACHI: Former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday filed a petition in the Sindh High Court for removing his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) to enable himself to travel abroad to see his mother who was suffering from an illness.

The petition was filed by Advocate A.Q. Halepota on behalf of Pervez Musharraf praying that his client had already been granted bails in Akbar Bugti, Benazir Bhutto, Abdul Rasheed Ghazi and other cases.

Halepota said that Musharraf wanted to go abroad to see his mother who was suffering from an illness.

The court issued notices to federal government and Interior Ministry for November 18.
