ISLAMABAD: Former President and chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday challenged rejection of his nomination papers filed from NA-139, Kusur.

The former military ruler, who is facing trail of high treason in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, has also challenged rejection of his nomination papers he filed for Islamabad’s NA-48.

After objections of rival candidates, Musharraf’s nomination papers have also been rejected from Karachi’s NA-250 and accepted from Chitral’s NA-32.

“I must be allowed to contest elections as I have served this country for eight years,” said Musharraf who returned last month after nearly four years of self-imposed exile to contest May 11 elections despite the possibility of arrest on various charges and death threats from militant groups.
