“This House condemns in strongest terms the raising of anti-Pakistan slogans and the incendiary and controversial speech of MQM founder Altaf Hussain from London and the subsequent attack on media houses in particular the ARY network,” said the resolution signed by 22 MQM leaders and submitted in the National Assembly on Friday.

“This House condemns every type of crime, violence, terrorism and anti-Pakistan slogans and activities,” it said.MQM resolution against Altaf Hussain

Talking to media after submitting the resolution in the National Assembly, the MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the party disassociated itself from its founder following his controversial statement against the country.

Farooq Sattar said that the party should not be pushed to the wall on the act of one individual. He said that the MQM is a pro-Pakistani party and has distanced itself from those who raised slogans against the country.

The MQM leader said that there is now need to embrace those who are chanting slogans of Long Live Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution strongly condemning the controversial and inflammatory remarks of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain against Pakistan.

The resolution moved by Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhry Birjees Tahir said the House also denounces the violent, criminal and terrorist activities and anti-Pakistan slogans. It demanded that action should be initiated immediately against those who resorted to such acts.

The House in its resolution also expressed solidarity with the Parliament, armed forces, judiciary, media and all other democratic institutions working under the constitution.
