KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday expressed its dissatisfaction regarding the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi, blaming some elements for sabotaging the operation.

The targeted operation in the city seems no more transparent, the MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi told a press conference in Karachi on Wednesday.

The MQM leader said that gang war being patronized by political forces in Karachi. He said that hundreds of innocent people, including MQM activists, were arrested in the operation.

“If some criminals are hiding in MQM ranks, party will never support such elements,” Rizvi said.

Rizvi said that when MQM ex-MPA Nadim Hashmi was arrested, the party contacted the authorities and the party was told that if there are crimes in any area, they would arrest the unit in-charge of MQM office of the area.
