KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Thursday handed over former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Nadeem Hashmi to police on seven days physical remands.

Hashmi, former member of Sindh Assembly, was arrested late on Tuesday on murder and terror charges over the killing of two policemen in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area and was subsequently shifted to the Pirabad police station. A case was registered against him on behalf of the state..

Earlier, the accused was brought in an armored personnel carrier (APC) amid tight security before the ATC judge Faiza Yaseen on Thursday. The MQM leaders and workers were present on the occasion.
