Islamabad, Pakistan: Millions of people watch live transmission of Pakistan Day parade held in Islamabad today on March 23, 2016 at the state run Pakistan Television that broadcast parade as carrier while production of the event was done by Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army.

A rough estimate suggests that over 30 million people watch this parade today on different television channels.

To celebrate the 76th anniversary of Pakistan Day, impressively decorated contingents of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) participated in parade that was held at Shakarparian Ground while President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif along with top military and civil leadership witnessed the event.

Contingents of mechanical wing, armed corps, Army Strategic Command Force, artillery and Army Air Defense participated in the parade.

Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army did a great job while handling the production of the event while Pakistan Television Corporation provided the beam to all over the world as broadcasting carrier of the event.  All private channels broadcast live parade by using signals of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV).

The parade was an impressive showcasing of might of Pakistan Army in the field of performance, technology and readiness to protect the mother land.

Diplomatic Corp of Islamabad was also present at the parade and witnessed performance of Pakistan Army with a pledge to make the country stronger and to be ready to respond enemies of this country.

It may be mentioned that March 23 marks the historic meeting that took place in Lahore during march 21 to 23, 1940 where the Lahore Resolution was passed, demanding a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.

The day of March 23 started with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals.

Shakarparian hills  became a venue of annual Pakistan Day parade last year when the parade was held after seven years because of security fears. This was second time that parade was held at Shakarparian hills.

Mobile phone networks in Islamabad were closed down for security reasons and a complete security plan was launched to ensure security of the event.

Thousands of people gather at parade loved to see formations of F-16, JF-17 thunder, Mirage, F-7PG AWACs, P-3C Orion while saluting to the chief guest by flying past over the dais.

Different regiments of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Rangers, Police, SSG and girl guides marched past the dais presenting salute to the President.

There was a heartwarming show by the Sherdil formation, JF-17 Thunder and F-16 (Fighting Falcon) of PAF. Skydivers of the three services also performed para-jumps.
