MUZAFFARAAD, Pakistan: Former ambassador Muhammad Masood Khan on Thursday took oath of the office of Azad Jammu and Kashmir President in Muzaffarabad.

The Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Muhammad Azam Khan administered the oath to the new President Azad Jammu & Kashmir at a ceremony in lawn of AJK Legislative Assembly.

The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Federal Minster for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir, Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, AJK Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, high-ranking civil and military officials and a large of notables attended the ceremony.

Masood Khan, belonging to the ruling party in AJK Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was elected as the new President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir after he received 42 votes in AJK Presidential Election held at the Lodging Hall of AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad on August 16.
