ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday night that Badami Bagh incident is a well-conceived conspiracy, adding that if Gojra incident’s culprits had met justice then this one could have been evaded, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Monday.

Speaking to media after a meeting with delegation of Christian community in Islamabad last night, the federal minister said that the banned outfits do not want timely elections in the country and Badami Bagh incident must be probed impartially.

Malik said if the Punjab government failed to take action against those involved in the incident, the federal government would constitute a judicial commission to investigate into the event. He lauded the suo moto notice of the case by the Supreme Court.

The federal minister said if the Punjab government had taken action against the banned organisations, this incident might not have happened. He said that Al Qaeda and Lashkar-e- Jhangvi are involved terrorist activities.

The minister demanded immediate arrest of all culprits involved in attack on minority’s locality and offered Punjab regime services of rangers for protection of churches in the province.

Meanwhile, the minister appealed to members of Christian community to not to hold any more protests against the Badami Bagh incident.
