The 43-year-old Justin Trudeau will now become the Canadian prime minister after his Liberal party won majority seats of the 338-member Lower House of the Parliament, ‘House of Commons’.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Stephen Harper has accepted his defeat in the elections held on Monday.

“The disappointment is my responsibility and mine alone,” Stephen Harper said in the speech in Calgary.

Now an interim government will be formed to rule the country till Justin Trudeau is sworn in as the next prime minister.

Trudeau is the oldest son of the former Canada’s Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, and after formally taking charge as the country’s executive head, Trudeau will become the second youngest prime minister in Canadian history.

Justin Trudeau has vowed to bring tax reforms in the country and taxes imposed on the wealthiest people will be increased by one percent.

The next Canadian prime minister has also promised to improve Canada’s relations with the United States and deal with problems related to climate change.
