LHC allows Chaudhry Wajahat to contest elections

Elections 2013LHC allows Chaudhry Wajahat to contest elections

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday allowed Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Wajahat to contest the upcoming elections.

Chaudhry Wajahat, who is the younger brother of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, is the party’s candidate from NA-104 (Gujrat).

On initial scrutiny a returning officer of Election Commission of Pakistan had rejected Chaudhry Wajahat’s papers after which he had filed a review appeal with an election tribunal. The tribunal also rejected his appeal earlier this week.

The objections on Chaudhry Wahajat’s papers had stated that he did not declare his assets correctly.
