Legendary social worker Edhi’s both kidneys stopped functioning: Dr Adeeb says

KARACHI: Renowned Doctor Adeeb Rizvi announced on Tuesday that both kidneys of the legendary social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi have not stopped functioning and that the option of transplantation is being explored and Edhi is in critical situation.

Adeeb, who is head of Sindh Institute Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), was addressing a press conference during which he was flanked by Edhi himself.

He said Edhi will continue to remain on dialysis until his kidneys are replaced, adding donors are readily available for transplantation.

On the occasion, Edhi said that he feels healthy adding that he is continuing with his daily routine.
